The Chimera pried the window open just a little, and a thin shadow snaked into the room so she didn't let all the heat out. Kaede hadn't traveled here entirely in that form, from the snow on her; it was too bright out still. And the shadows reformed into a Monster as soon as she slipped through the window, unable to keep its form in the light.
